Front Porch Spruce-up

I love my house, I mean I really, really love my house.  I didn't have it built so it's not 100% the way I would want it, but we get along :)  One thing that I REALLY dislike about my house is the super tiny front porch...if you can even call it that.  Sure, I've tried my hand at decorating it during the holidays:

Can you see how tiny and narrow it is?  Not exactly the wrap around porch I always dreamt of.

Still, I have to work with what I have, so I've taken a few steps toward improving it (pics and future blog post to come.)

I started by making my own version of a wreath I read about on pinterest, you can see where the idea originated here.  I thought it would be perfect for Spring, and here's how it turned out (I will put up a tutorial on making your own soon):

I knew I wanted to have multiple pots on a stand, but I couldn't find an affordable stand.  Of course I didn't let that stop me.  I went ahead and bought three clay pots and spruced them up by painting them white and blue (using paint I already had) and personalized them with some cursive in yellow paint:

I'll do a tutorial on painting pots soon, I promise!

Anywho, I finished all three pots and bought a stand I found at Ross for $25 dollars.  I really wanted to find something cheaper but nothing was coming up.  Here's how that turned out:

That was a definite improvement, but I was still missing something on the opposite corner.  This one was a bit trickier because it's actually a smaller space.  During one of my many trips to Walmart, I came across a wrought iron pot holder.  It was adorable so I bought it along with a basket to hang flowers in.  After removing a few chain links and adding some shade only impatiens, I ended up with this:

Perfect, right?

So this is what my entry looks like now:

It's still small, it's still not a wrap around porch with rocking chairs, but at least now it's not just a plain cement porch. What do you think?

Please share what you've done to spruce up your entry!  Flower pots, painted doors in bright colors, nice 'welcome' mats?  There are so many affordable ways to spruce up a small entrance.
