Our house

 When I started this blog, I stated that I would create room galleries of each room in our house. I have yet to do it, sorry! I know that one of the best things about reading these types of blogs is getting a small look into someone else's home. Well, I have yet to stage my house perfectly or take super zoomed in photos of all the furnishings and details, but since buying the house, I have snapped a few photos of most of the rooms. I thought I would let y'all have a quick peek into our house the way it is most days, not super clean and staged (that will come later). So without further ado, here is what you would see if you stopped by:

You're all well acquainted with this photo:

The front porch area still looks like this (at least it did when I left for AK two weeks ago):

The entrance to our home:

On one side of the entry is the photo collage and a coat rack (not pictured):

On the other side is the formal dining room, currently Eva's toy room (not for long, muahaha!)

From this room you can go into the living on one side or the kitchen on the other.  Let's go in the kitchen first:

Here's where the magic happens :)

She and I sit together and do work:

I get to enjoy the view of the greenbelt from the sink, which makes washing up our messes a little more pleasant.

I both love and hate my kitchen.  I love all the space, but hate all the odd angles.  I'm more partial to wide open rooms.

Next to the kitchen is the breakfast nook, which we use as our informal & formal dining room, that should change soon since I have plans in the works to convert the playroom back to a formal dining room:

We have a really open floor plan so you can see the living room from the breakfast nook and the kitchen:

The living room has sliding doors out to the deck on one side:

It's a small living room, but I like it.  It's super cozy.

Next to that wall is a mini hall with a coat closet, a half bath, and the door to the laundry room.

Half bath:

I couldn't believe this was the only picture I had of my downstairs bath.  I'll have to take some more when I get back.  

Opposite the restroom is the laundry room, which leads to the garage:

I don't have any pictures of the garage...trust me, that is a good thing.  It's still a disaster area.

Lets go upstairs.

From the living room, you take the staircase up to the 2nd floor:

This is what you see at the top.

 You can go left into the master bedroom or right to a hallway that leads to 3 bedrooms and a bathroom.

Let's go right.

The first (and tiniest) room on the right is the ex-office/2nd guest room:

Eva's room is the last room on that side of the house, it's also the largest of the minor bedrooms:

I created this 'daddy wall' for her.  

Going back down the hallway, this is what you'll see:

 Now we can go across the hall to the master bedroom, which takes up the other half of the upstairs...it's kind of in its own wing.

See all that stuff against the dresser?  Those are projects I'm currently working on.

I used to have a love seat in front of the window.  It never got used.  Buying a desk for that space made so much more sense. 

This wall will be completely different soon.  The sunbursts are being moved and the wall is getting more paint. I can't wait to get back and work on it!

My bedroom is definitely my favorite room in the house.  I do everything in here (no, not that, get your mind out of the gutter). I craft, read, exercise, do my make up, watch the occasional movie, handle all our paperwork, etc... My desk is a catch all for whatever I'm working on:

I have an ensuite bathroom with four closets.  One is a small linen closet, the other is a large linen closet (which I use for my shoes), then there's the his & hers closets.

It has a double vanity:

I wanted to paint an accent wall where the vanity is, but I didn't get to it before I left.  I tested the color like 3 months ago, that's how long those two samples have been on the wall (left of the mirror).

and a shower/tub combo:

I recently changed out my shower curtain, but the rug needs to be replaced.  I haven't had any luck in my search for a sea foam colored rug.

My inspiration sits on the counter:

I love my bathroom but have considered remodeling it.  I feel like there's a lot of wasted space with all the closets and such.

So that's the end of the upstairs area.  We also have two attics, but you don't need to see those since there's nothing up there except insulation.

Back downstairs you can take the sliding doors out to the deck:

I do enjoy the privacy

Occasionally the privacy is interrupted by a few peeping Toms, but I don't mind their kind:

There you have it, a tour of my casa...finally!  I'll eventually do a before and after photo series.  The house looked much different before I went paint crazy, added crown moulding, and had all the interior doors replaced. You can see before pictures here.

Even after all of that, I still have a long list of changes I would like to make.  I guess it's true when they say the work never ends once you own a house, but I love working on my home.  How about you?  Have you made any changes  to your home or do you have any projects on your dream list?
